Hiawatha's First Responders: A Testament to Excellence and Efficiency

Hiawatha has long been a city that values the dedication and expertise of its first responders. From our police officers to our fire department and ambulance services, these professionals play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. As someone with firsthand experience relying on these services, I can confidently say that Hiawatha’s first responders are second to none.

In my mid-twenties, I faced significant health challenges that required emergency medical care on multiple occasions. I’ve had the unique opportunity to experience ambulance services in different areas, including Area Ambulance Service, Johnson County Ambulance Service, and Hiawatha Ambulance Service. Through those experiences, one thing became abundantly clear: Hiawatha Ambulance Service stands out for its exceptional response times, quality of care, and overall service.

Thanks to our city’s two strategically located fire stations, Hiawatha Ambulance can reach nearly any location within city limits in just two minutes. This rapid response time is critical in emergencies, where every second counts. Moreover, the level of professionalism, compassion, and expertise demonstrated by our EMTs and paramedics has made a lasting impression on me—and undoubtedly on countless others in our community.

As Hiawatha continues to grow, it’s essential that we support and invest in our first responders. Their work saves lives and strengthens the sense of security and trust that makes Hiawatha such a special place to live.

Whether through updated equipment, enhanced training, or simply expressing our gratitude, let’s do our part to ensure that our first responders continue to excel in their mission to serve and protect us all.
